Kansas residential solar owners who are customers of Westar and KCP&L will see dramatic rate increases, nearly eliminating any financial benefits of going solar.

The Kansas Energy Fairness Act 2019 HB 2190/SB 124 was introduced to the Kansas House and Senate on Tuesday, February 5 by the Clean Energy Business Council in order to stop this.

WHAT YOU CAN DO

Show your support of the bill and homeowner’s option to use renewable energy sources without being penalized by reaching out to the Senate Utilities Committee members.

If you are a constituent of one of the committee members or if you know someone who is, make sure you contact them.

Tell them:

I support Senate Bill 124, the Kansas Energy Fairness Act 2019, and would like you to vote in favor of the bill.

If you are not a constituent of any of the committee members, you can still help. Reach out to your state legislatures and tell them to support this bill.
